The tool also includes questions about therapies that could affect the BMQ-R as well as (C)APD diagnostic test results. The BMQ-R is easy to complete and score. Rule the School Self-Advocacy Board Game
GOAL: To provide professionals and parents working with students who are hearing impaired with a fun way to evaluate, problem solve, discuss and role-play students' self advocacy skills that they can access their school environments in accordance with IDEA 2004.
Rule the School is a unique way to assess and practice knowledge about hearing loss, amplification systems, communication repair and classroom accommodations. Socially appropriate ways of expressing this knowledge is practiced in a fun game board format. By documenting student responses this game can also help the H.I. professional determine what the student knows and can express. This information is valuable because some students may have this knowledge but be unwilling to put it to use outside of a session with the H.I. professional such as in the regular classroom. This documentation can demonstrate the student has the knowledge but is not ready to effectively use it.
