Educational Audiology Association · From the EAA Board of Directors

Since March, your EAA Board has been working on a set of priorities meant to strengthen the association, support members, advance scholarship, and advocate for students with hearing differences. Here is an overview of what we have focused on and where things stand.

This summary reflects the priorities the board has taken up together. Much of EAA's work also happens in committees, through volunteers, and between meetings, and it is not all captured here.

New members since March

79new members joined EAA from March through September 2026.

September brought 22, the most of any month in the past year.

Where the work happened

Governance and organizational development

Much of this year's work has gone into the foundations that let EAA run smoothly as board members change.

Outcome: A stronger organizational foundation for future growth.

What the board worked on

  • A full review and revision of the bylaws
  • Modernizing how the board governs itself
  • New board procedures and operational resources
  • Better planning for leadership transitions and continuity
  • Aligning with nonprofit best practices

The board has supported the journal's editorial team in strengthening how JEPRA runs.
